The 1919 Boston Police Strike Project: Researching the Men Behind the Strike with Margaret Sullivan On September 9, 1919, more than 1100 Boston police officers went on strike in hopes of gaining long promised improvements in wages and working conditions. None of the strikers worked as Boston police officers again.
