Did you know your ancestors have a FAN club?  Everyone has a circle of Family, Friends, Associates and Neighbors who can help fill in information that might be missing for the ancestors you have researched.  Professional genealogist Lisa Dougherty will help you in the steps to identify your ancestors’ FAN club, and use that information to fill in your family tree!

Speakers Bio:  Lisa Dougherty has been active in tracing the history of not only her own family, but many others for almost 30 years.  A native of upstate New York, she became interested in genealogy as a teenager when her father began investigating the origins of his Irish great grandparents.  A former volunteer at the National Archives in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she conducts free monthly help sessions at Clifton Park Library, Guilderland Library, Crandall Library in Glens Falls, and serves as the genealogist-in-residence at the Irish American Heritage Museum in Albany, NY.  She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, as well as several area genealogical groups.  A long-time subscriber to Ancestry.com, she specializes in online research and the effective use of websites to investigate family history.  She resides in Guilderland, New York with her husband and college age son.  For more information, visit her website at www.upstatenygenealogy.com, or “like” her Facebook page, Upstate NY Genealogy by Lisa Dougherty.
