Using Google Maps

Since Google Maps™ mapping service was first introduced in 2005, most of us have used it to find our way to a restaurant, venue or on vacation.  You can also use Google Maps for genealogy, as Mary will demonstrate in this presentation:

• Visualize locations of ancestors to help you find their records
• Track ancestors’ movements and migration patterns
• Support FAN Club analysis by plotting people’s places in proximity to one another and particularly to our ancestors
• Plan research-oriented travel

Speaker: Mary Wickersham

 Mary Wickersham is a professional genealogist and a long-time member of the Irish Genealogical Society International.  In additional to researching her and others’ family histories, Mary gives genealogy talks on research tools and techniques.  Mary twice co-chaired the Celtic Connections Conference.  A past President and board member of IGSI, Mary is now IGSI’s Web Editor and a Co-managing Editor of its quarterly journal, The Septs.
