2023 TIARA Banquet will be held in Canton, MA at the Irish Cultural Centre.   The lecture will also be available on Zoom for those unable to attend in person

Description:

The remarkable story of the mission that inspired a nation to donate massive relief to Ireland during the potato famine and began America’s tradition of providing humanitarian aid around the world.

Doors will open at 12:00 PM with a buffet lunch to follow at 1:00 PM.

 At 2:00 PM a short business meeting, including recognition of our long-term members will be held.

 This will be followed by a presentation from Stephen Puleo author of the The Voyage of Mercy. Stephen will be available for a book signing after his presentation.

 This book tells the remarkable story of the mission that inspired a nation to donate massive relief to Ireland during the potato famine and began America’s tradition of providing humanitarian aid around the world.

Speaker – Stephen Puleo:

Stephen Puleo is an author, historian, teacher, public speaker, and communications professional. He has published seven narrative history books, including his most recent: Voyage of Mercy: The USS Jamestown, the Irish Famine, and the Remarkable Story of America’s First Humanitarian Mission, published in March 2020. His eighth book, The Great Abolitionist: Charles Sumner and the Fight for a More Perfect Union, will be published by St. Martin’s Press in April, 2024.
