The Salt Lake City trip was in May, and included seven nights at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel. It's a short walk to
the LDS library, with its wealth of genealogy information and knowledgable volunteers eager to assist the researchers.
TIARA Ireland Genealogy Research Trip 2009
An eager group of TIARA members went to Dublin for a week of research at local repositories.
They stayed at
Buswells's hotel to enjoy the convenience of the hotel's central location, as well as those great Irish breakfasts!
Everyone enjoyed a half-day Sunday tour
of the villages north of Dublin, with Sean O'Duill as guide. Janis Duffy, Pat Landry, and Eileen O'Duill provided technical guidance to the researchers.
TIARA Genealogy Cruise 2009
The TIARA Genealogy Cruise in January 2009 was enjoyed by all participants.
Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas provided an ideal environment for learning and sharing genealogy information.
Shore days offered a break from intellectual pursuits, and a chance to absorb the lectures from the sea days. This is sure to be the first of many enjoyable genealogy cruises for TIARA!
The Salt Lake City Research Trip in October 2008 was a success! 18 Tiara members spent a week researching at the Family History Library. Participants made many finds in Irish, Canadian and US records. We had a wonderful excursion to the Kennecott Copper Mines and visited the Great Salt Lake. We ended the week with a wonderful dinner at The Roof restaurant overlooking the entire city.
